Melissa and I are both from a small town in Oklahoma called Muskogee. We have been married for 25 years this May. We have three sons and one daughter in-law and a granddaughter on the way in march 2021. God has directed us in our marriage all along the way and provided us with great opportunities to serve him. One of the biggest moments for us was when we adopted our three Nephews in 2003 and were granted the opportunity to raise them over the next 16 years to be God fearing young men. We have been in some form of ministry for 28 years holding several different positions. From youth volunteers to youth pastors, I served 8 years as a Campus Missionary aid for Chi Alpha campus ministries in Oklahoma and Missouri. While in Missouri I was able to serve as the Chaplain for University of Missouri's Baseball , Volley Ball, and Gymnastics teams. In 2007 we were blessed to serve a Director of Spiritual formation at Sterling Christian College in Sterling, Kansas. In 2010 we moved back to Oklahoma to be closer to family and explore some new ministry opportunities with Native American tribes. We were blessed to serve as Campus directors at The Bridge at Christ Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Melissa has taught school in all three states from Pre-K to 3rd grade for 18 years. The parents of her students would tell you she is the greatest teacher in the world, and I echo that daily. We believe we are called to serve local and to also go to the ends of the earth. For us this is the country of Mongolia. In July of 2019 we moved to Erdenet, Mongolia to share Gods love, hope and salvation .
Twenty one years ago, God gave us a deep passion and heart for the Mongolian peoples... In June 2018, we begin the fulfillment of this desire and longing to go by making our first trip to Mongolia. We have decided through much pray and fasting to make a lifetime commitment and move to Mongolia to fulfill the call of God on our lives. O
Our Journey began in July of 2019. Moving to the country that God placed on our hearts so long ago, instantly felt like we had been there for a lifetime. The Mongolian believers were so welcoming to us and helped us to fit in as best we could. Melissa would be the only blond haired lady and naturally I was one of the biggest men in Mongolia. We completed our first 16 months in November of 2020. Due to covid-19 and some much needed family time we came home for the holidays. Our plans is to return as soon as the boarder is opened back up to foreigners.
